Lakewood is a neighbourhood of Edmonton, in Greater Edmonton. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 5,636 living in private households. 50.4% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 33.0% across Greater Edmonton as a whole; the largest single group was South Asian at 17.9%. 42.0% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 7.5% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 39.8% of the population, compared with 26.0% citywide. Median household income before tax was $74,500 in 2020, compared with $96,000 for Greater Edmonton. 47.5% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 1.56 km², giving a population density of 3,616 people per square kilometre (Greater Edmonton averages about 144).
