South Cooking Lake is a neighbourhood of Strathcona County, in Greater Edmonton. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 4,550 living in private households. 5.9% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 33.0% across Greater Edmonton as a whole; the largest single group was South Asian at 3.6%. 90.1% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 3.9% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 8.6% of the population, compared with 26.0% citywide. Median household income before tax was $132,000 in 2020, compared with $96,000 for Greater Edmonton. 6.9% of households rented rather than owned.
